anyone noticing the Monthly require test is going on a little too much lately

Yesterday while watching TV we saw two of the "require test" with all the beeping and all that.

Today there has been 6 of those in a in past 2 hours.

That can happen when a station has its EAS receiver tuned to receive multiple stations. As more and more stations become automated and and have no one manning master control during different hours of the day, they will often tune the EAS to catch and turn around more required weekly and monthly tests than the FCC actually requires in case one of the transmit stations misses sending the test or the unit just doesn't receive it for whatever reason. I know that having ours tuned to tow stations saved our bacon a while back when our primary transmit station didn't send any required weekly tests for a month. We had slips from the backup station's tests to put in our records in case of FCC audit of the station.

6 in 2 hours does sound a bit excessive though, the EAS receiver may have stacked the tests it received and then decided to turn them around all at once....they can be finicky machines.
