Do you like your age?
Edited on Thu Jan-15-09 12:03 AM by cynatnite
I'm 44. I feel much younger. In fact, my age isn't a big deal at all. I like my age.

Happy Birthday to me :toast:

How do you feel about your age?

1. Somewhat insecure. Not that being 25 is bad...
...but next month is my birthday. I'll be 26, and at the end of my mid-20's. Then it'll be the late 20's, and, soon enough, I'll be in my 30's.

I don't feel bad about it, but I'm not totally thrilled about it either. I guess I'm somewhat indifferent?

20. Not really.
I'm old enough that my metabolism isn't what it used to be, and I can't stay up all night without feeling like shit the next day, but not old enough to be quite settled down and established (read: not broke) yet.

21. A year ago I was fine with it
Six months ago, I was okay with it. Now I'm not so sure. Inside I feel young -- until the mood swings kick in. Didn't help that I tripped and fell in the garage before Thanksgiving -- and was sore for 2 weeks after. Couldn't really take a good deep breath for another 2 weeks after that.

22. Happy Happy Joy Joy Birthday cynatnite !
:D

I'm 47 and I don't feel it, either. Most say I look like I'm in my late thirties. I can't really tell if I still feel like I'm 30-something, but I don't think about my age as it is. Although turning 50 in a little more than couple of years may make me think about it more, especially if I'm still out of shape... ;)

25. 29 is nice
Edited on Thu Jan-15-09 01:09 AM by Juche
Being a young adult is a nice window in between the period of being an insecure, confused kid (which most people are when they are young) and being someone who is old enough to start seeing their health deteriorate to the point where activities and recovery are limited. My SIL said she cried when she turned 30, but I am looking forward to it. I predict my 30s will be alot more stable and enjoyable than my 20s because I have more life experience, social skills, comprehension of relevant issues, etc. Plus I'll still have decent health for at least a decade or two if I work at it. Hurrah.

On another note I think I'll really like my twilight years (80s) as I figure by then you have a good enough understanding of who and what you are that you really don't care anymore about what people think and all the risks that scare the hell out of everyone else are petty to you by then. I look forward to my 30s and 40s.

I'll be 70 on Sunday. I don't want to be that old. But it's better than the alternative. At least, I am still alive and in fairly good health.

There are some downers about getting older, but I personally am much happier than I was in my childhood, adolescence (arghh!) and my 20's.

33. I don't know
I'm turning 50 next month. That in and of itself doesn't bother me. I think what bothers me is that I'm not happy where I am or where I thought I would be at this stage of my life. Not career wise, I love my job and I wouldn't trade that, it's my own personal life and my personality.

36. Well it's not like I have a lot of choice in the matter. It is what it is.
Until they invent time machines allowing someone a literal do-over in their life we had better be ok with our age 'cause there ain't no changing it except moving ahead.

42. I hate my age - 56. I have a 15-year-old daughter who
looks a lot like I did at her age. I love her to pieces, but she serves as a constant reminder that my youth is gone. Those of you who are younger, enjoy every minute. One day you'll look in the mirror and say, "Who the hell is that?"

44. I just turned 43 and I feel sort of ... antsy
Like I want to do something more with my life. Definitely make more money -- I hate thinking about how my parents were much better off financially at my age than I am. I don't want great wealth -- just more security, able to pay for kids' college, retirement and some home repairs that have been neglected. Also, I'd like to do something that matters or helps people and animals.

On the other hand, I've done okay -- graduated college, grad school, successful marriage, wonderful son and daughter, nice house in great neighborhood in city I love, have traveled a lot, a parttime job in my field, and I'm very healthy, so I know compared to LOTS of people I have it great. I just need to step it up in the career area. Oprah -- I need you! ;)
