What's with my cat?
Edited on Wed Jan-14-09 11:31 PM by CreekDog
I call him. 10 minutes later, he shows up (he's an indoor cat, this place is not very big). :eyes:

It always takes him this long.

5. maybe him showing up had nothing to do with you initially calling him...
he just happened to come by of his own accord on his own cat time.

10. He comes when HE wants to.
Not when YOU want him to.

Cats were worshipped as gods in ancient egypt. They have not forgotten this.

9. Cats have "selective deafness."
They do not hear you when you call them. They CAN, however, hear the can opener from the other end of the house--or better yet--they can hear you open the cabinet door where you store the cat food.

I find kids and husbands suffer this same syndrome on occasion.

23. Or even better...
One of my cats comes strolling in if she hears me making instant coffee. She knows that I put a lot of milk in it, and she figures she's entitled to her share.

12. Don't know about yours, but my orange cat frequently visits his home planet
via his transporter hidden in the shower stall. Sometimes it takes awhile for my message to make it though space, thus a delayed response.

24. The problem is that you think he's your cat.
Cats resent such presumption. They understand that you are their human, and your cat is simply training you to behave properly. Once you recognize your subservient role, things will improve.

He is trying to trip you and bring you down to his level where he can explain things with a few claws to the face. One day you will understand.

32. He is waiting for you to come. When you call him out it is up to you to do all the work. He
is confused when you don't show up where he is. He gets curious as to what horrid fate has befallen you and goes looking. You have to think like a cat.
