What does SymWinOpen mean?
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 06:02 PM by HypnoToad
I'd uploaded a web page.

The code I see doesn't have that Sym crap in it.

When uploading, the <body> tag is full of rubbish that's overriding <body> tag that has got to be in there.

:wtf:

I did a google search, but only websites containing SymWinOpen code get displayed. :eyes:

Thanks!

P.S. full code:

<html>
<head>
<title>season1bar</title>

<base target="main3">

<script language="JavaScript">
<!--

function SymError()
{
return true;
}

window.onerror = SymError;

var SymRealWinOpen = window.open;

function SymWinOpen(url, name, attributes)
{
return (new Object());
}

window.open = SymWinOpen;

//-->
</script>

<script language = "JavaScript">
function clearwindow() {
open("season21overview.html","main3")
}
</script>
</head>

<body topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" illegal code"var SymTmpWinOpen = window.open; window.open = SymWinOpen; var SymTmpWinOpen = window.open; window.open = SymWinOpen; clearwindow(); window.open = SymTmpWinOpen;; window.open = SymTmpWinOpen;" bgcolor="#000000">
<div align="center">

<script language="JavaScript">
<!--

window.open = SymRealWinOpen;

//-->
</script>

1. Google.
A Google search (see, for instance, http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum91/354.htm) tells me it's probably not really there. That is, you probably uploaded exactly that you think you uploaded (why would uploading change the contents of your files? --that doesn't make sense) but the html is being changed when you read the actual web pages (you never noticed this because you might not have had a reason to check).

The culprit is a Norton product. Get rid of any filtering (pop-up blocking, ad filtering, etc.), refresh the browser and your web pages should read the way you uploaded them.

2. It means the world is about to end.
Time to pray for Astley's divine mercy, everyone!
