Is your ring finger longer than your index finger or vice versa?
Inspired from the Base 10 thread.

2D:4D is sexually dimorphic: in men, the second digit tends to be shorter than the fourth, and in females the second tends to be the same size or slightly longer than the fourth. This trait may be better described as 'sexually differentiated' rather than 'sexually dimorphic' in recognition of the fact that the effect size is fairly small (2D:4D distributions of the two sexes overlap to a great degree), especially as compared to other sexually dimorphic traits such as height.

1. What exact fingers are discussed here? I count my index as #1 and ring as #3.

4. The ones on either side of the middle finger
D1: thumb
D2: index
D3: middle
D4: ring
D5: pinky

My ring finger is about 0.25" longer than my index.

5. It means you're gonna die!
In females, the index finger tends to be longer. In males, it tends to be the ring finger. But there's lots of overlap.

On my left hand, they are about the same. On my right hand the ring finer is longer.

But I'm left-handed, too.

29. hmm, I wonder
I wonder if playing guitar for 35 years has anything to do with the difference in mine, stretching to make chords etc?

32. I never played guitar
but I swing a bat right-handed, so I'd probably do the same with a guitar!

33. I could bat either left or right
had the most power as a rightie though. Left handed I was a base hit hitter at best, right handed, pitch it a tad low and outside and I't hit it over the fence. :d

so much for my theory about guitar playing I guess...

9. Exactly the same length on the right
Ring finger considerably longer on the left. Does that mean my left hand belongs to a Lesbian? Gods! I hope she doesn't need it back - I've found it really useful.

13. I don't think it means anything
Like I said, there's lots of overlap. There's also been a lot of pseudoscience regarding this over the years. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio

11. my ring finger is almost a fingertip longer than my index finger.
i i have long fingers or as my family calls them---the claws. My fingers are the exact shape as my father's fingers but the length of my mother's. My daughter has the same shaped fingers as my husband but her fingers are really slim, like toddler fingers with tiny nail beds.

That's a whole lot of information you probably don't really want to know.

on the right hand the ring finger is significantly longer. Thank you for pointing out an abnormality I had been happily ignorant of for 45 years.

34. Ring fingers are a lot longer on both hands.
Like, half the length of the tip joint longer. I thought my index finger on my left hand was shorter then the one on the right, but on further review, this appears not to be the case. Wonder if it grew.

36. Now if anyone's index finger is longer
Than his or her middle finger (i.e. the "finger" finger), that person is in real trouble: Eastern European folklore has it that's the sign of a werewolf*. I've never met anyone with this particular anomaly, however, let alone been bitten by one.
