My neighbor is wonderful
I live in a double (a two-family house). I live upstairs. My neighbor takes care of the yard and the snow. He's saved me hundreds of dollars fixing a couple things on my car and installed a dryer (Sears wanted $200 to do it.) I went down yesterday and told him about my work situation. This morning, after he plowed the sidewalks and all, he must have cleaned off my car.

I would do the same for him, but it was so nice to look out and see my car cleaned off.

It doesn't take much to make someone's day.

I hope that 2009 is a return to people caring for and about others.

1. Good neighbors are wonderful
My 83 year old neighbor gets up on snowy mornings and snowblows her driveway and the sidewalk for four houses. I think she'd clean the whole street off if we'd let her.

2. I'm glad there is some sunshine in your life today. What a
very kind, caring and considerate neighbour you have.

I too hope that 2009 is a return to people caring for and about others.

3. How kind!
Our neighbor loves him some snowblowin', so he not only does his entire driveway (our driveways are loooooooong and narrow), front walk, and side walk, but also our apron and up to the back end of our cars. (He knows we don't use the whole driveway.) In the middle of our last snowstorm (more than a foot dumped overnight) he not only used the snowblower on our driveway but also on our front walk AND all the way back to our woodpile (through the grass and everything!) so we could get the wheelbarrow to it.

I share your hope that humanity turns over a new leaf in '09. We may be going through hard times, but that's when people pull together--the silver lining on that huge raincloud.

Hope your raincloud lifts soon, Lizzie.

5. He's a good guy
I told him I wanted to learn how to use the snowblower, but he said if he couldn't take care of the driveway and the sidewalks, the neighbors would do it.

Probably a good thing. The bitter cold air makes my lungs spasm. My asthma is almost uncontrollable these days. :(

13. We're friends
with everything going on in my life right now, seeing someone is the furthest (farthest?) thing from my mind. Besides, I'm still trying to get someone out of my system and I'm not having much luck. :(

16. good neighbors are a godsend
my neighbor at my old place did so much to help me, including jumping my car and plowing the 60+ foot driveway that led up to my house after we got four feet of snow.

i'm glad you have a good neighbor

19. He's always been that way
:)

Once a good man, always a good man.

My asthma's out of control and I'm pretty sure I've got a sinus infection and no insurance. And no extra money to pay a doctor. Hell, no extra money to pay for anything. God I hate this.

21. Big hugs, dude....
Take some Vitamin C if you have it, it'll help thin your sinus mucus and whatnot...

Love and hugs to you, my friend. :loveya: I'm glad you've got a neighbor looking out for you.
