Enviros vs. Motorheads:Jay Leno's new car

http://www.tamsoldracecarsite.net/JayLeno1.html

THe construction process illustrated here. It has a freakin' Patton Tank engine in it!!!!!!!
http://www.blastolene.com/Blastolene_Special.htm

Randy Grubb's car started with a M47 Patton Tank V12 engine (1950-1955) 1800 cu.inches all aluminum - air cooled - overhead cam - Engine alone cost U.S. Govt. $100,000. to produce in 1955. She takes 17 GALLONS OF OIL - 1000 h.p. - 1500 ft. lbs. of torque.Y E S ! ( The engine was designed to run under water ! )

Great shot of the chassis with the wood bucks in position.

2. I saw this beast on "Rides" last night.
190-inch wheelbase! :wow:
Tank motor! :wow:
GMC Bus Transmission and front end! :wow:

That thing has got to corner like an aircraft carrier!

Leno should park that thing though. Too wasteful.

He's a Mr.Fix-it type, loves Rides and the motorcycle family show.

That is some serious power.

5. As long as you're going straight it sounds like fun...
...I'd HATE to try turning that thing, though.

7. How would you like to be the valet when he pulls up in THAT?
I couldn't have it would take me an hour just to find a spot big enough to parallel park it.

6. It looks exactly like the car
That Peter Griffin bought on Family Guy, when he needed to compensate for his feelings of "inadequacy".

Exactly like it...

Too funny!

8. It's a project car, I don't see any insecurity in it
Looks like a fun ride, for events, I wouldn't take it on any cruises.

11. *grins*
Before a little demonstration in Cambridge, a number of DUers and I were hanging around with the usual flame-bait, peace flag, upside down U.S. flag (guess who) and fending off all the whackos that confronted us.

One basically ended up trying to convince a black DUer that we should go back to the ways of the 50s. This other guy, one of the stream of MBTA (Mass Bay Transit Auth) guys that disagreed with us, got into a heated argument over the whole Iraq thing. He said that since his dad had half his ass blown off in WW2 fighting for the right to protest and freedom, we shouldn't be exercising our freedom by protesting. All the while FReepers were circling in their cars, with their feet hanging out the window as if we all wanted to smell their toejam, yelling 'Get a Job!'. It was a Saturday, it seems that they overlooked tha tlittle detail

17. There are Freepers-and, I hate to say it-they are usually poor whites
My father (Korean War Vet) and I were verbally assaulted by a couple of them at a peace demonstration last year. My dad handed them enlistment forms. It was pretty funny-my 70-year old dad shut them down immediately. Chickenshits.

13. Leno collects old weird cars. I've seen this one before.
Move along, folks, nothing to see here. It is kinda cool looking, but I'd put it in my living room and drive something a bit more practical, like...

BTR-80. The ultimate SUV.
