The Difference Between A Man & A Woman...
A man will walk by a shoe store, look down at his feet and think to himself, "Yeah, I have shoes on." and keep walking. A woman will walk by a shoe store and think to herself, "Those are cute!" and go into the store.

This rant prompted by an accidental look in my wife's closet. I mean fuck! She only has two feet!

2. By that metric, I'm a woman.
Except that by any other metric I'm not even remotely feminine or female.

I like men's fashion. I buy clothes a lot and I probably own 20 pairs of shoes. I like to look good.

5. If it's any consolation, it's makes me male...
These kinds of jokes almost never work for me and my husband.

7. I'm the flip side of you. I'm a woman who doesn't really care about shoes much.
I seem to lack that gene that makes me able to determine what makes a pair of shoes "cute" or not. I never notice other people's shoes, either.

3. Men only need three, four pairs of shoes at the most.
Athletic shoes for everyday wear.
A pair of nice brown or black shoes for work/dress-up occasions
A good pair of boots
If one plays sports, the proper footwear. (i.e. softball cleats, golf shoes, bowling shoes)

I just don't care that much.

6. My shoe/gender function must be faulty
I have exactly 2 pair... my New Balance sneakers, and my snow boots.

That's it.

The NB's are due to be replaced in the next couple of weeks, and when they are, the old ones will go out the door, because they are no longer suitable for anything besides the landfill.

What is it when a woman talks nasty to a man, it's $3.99 a minute.

Girls are innies, boys are outies. Only difference

I have a "nice" pair of shoes and about 5 others that I rotate to keep them alive longer, all in various states of degradation. Here's a pic of the nice shoes

And the other shoes are all different colors of this

In all, my shoes have cost me maybe $100 in the past 2.5 years. I've spent that on Dropkid alone in the last 9 months. I'm thinking of cutting her toes off soon, that way the shoes will fit longer.

That said, given unlimited funds, I'd probably own something like 700 pairs of sneakers, but I know a LOT of guys with a thing for sneakers too, so thbppt.

*edited to add - I forgot my snow boots!! I got them at Farm and Fleet 7 years ago when I was working at the equine hospital, so I have 7 pairs of shoes!

I could say that ties cost ~1/4 as much as shoes, but that's not really the point of the OP...

Well played!

she can feed her habit and have enough left over to buy you more ties!

20. I guess that makes me a man.
I have a pair of tennies, a pair of dress shoes (flats) that I try to avoid. Then I have a pair of hiking boots/snow boots.

We will not, however, talk about my climbing shoe fetish (I "only" have three pairs of those, which, by climbing standards is few, but is still a lot of shoes for one thing). :hide:

28. don't stereotype
I'm female and I have five pairs of shoes. I literally would rather go to the dentist than go shoe shopping, and women who get their self-esteem from buying shoes make me sick.

"I'm positive there's no such thing as too many shoes. I mean, that's like too much vacation...not possible!"

You just have to understand, they're all different.

31. Sigh
I just had to look here, I guess

Personally, I hate uncomfortable shoes and don't waste a whole of money or time on shoes in general. I don't understand women who do, but it's not my business to make choices for them. I do know a few men who have a closet full of shoes though.

I'm the same way with clothes. I have to be able to have comfort and freedom of movement, which rules in certain types of dresses surprisingly. And rules out most of what passes for style in women's shoes. Not a tennis shoe fan either.

I love, love yoga pants, anything stretchy and form fitting, actually.

32. Just bought a pair of
Birkenstocks. My shoe inventory is very meager compared to some women. I like a good comfortable shoe that works well in many situations.

These? Very versatile. Looks great with jeans, dress pants, suits.
