Why do I feel compelled to check on the garbage people?

Every Monday morning, and every Thursday morning, there is a loud noise in the front of my house. It is invariably either the garbage or the recycling pickup. Nevertheless, every time, I feel compelled to look out the window and confirm this fact. I don't know what else I think it could be, Godzilla? Anyway, if you do this too, please let me know so I don't think I'm a freak. Otherwise, feel free to post here and tell me I'm a freak. :freak::P

I ask her if they've ever not picked up all the garbage, and she says no. But she always has to watch them take it away. I actually thought it was a strange quirk of hers few others shared.

You know, I do have a shredder and shred regularly. Hm...

I also feel compelled to watch most of the time when there are people on my property doing work, i.e. trimming trees, minor renovations, etc. I'm beginning to see a pattern here, haha.

Not exactly clockwork, is Republic Waste.

BUT: We have a Wednesday pickup as well, and every Saturday is 'big trash' day (couches, water heaters, etc.)

So that's pretty good.

And they only come every two weeks, so I confess I have raced them to the curb on occasion myself. :D
