Post pictures of your musical instruments!
In a combination of "What instrument do you play" and "Post pictures of your pet", I bring you:

Instruments DUers play!

I will go first:

I have

A G&L S500

A Takamine GS330

A Rogue Mandolin

and

3 Honer Blues Harps, tuned in G, D, and A

I am interested to see what some of the other DUers have, because I know there is some nice shit out there.

Hopefully this thread will spark enough interest to stay kicked until morning.

1. Chapman Stick
I play a Chapman Stick, a stringed instrument you play by tapping the strings with the fingers of both hands. You can read more about it at www.ramuji.com or www.stick.com

16. Heh heh ... I know exactly how you feel.
I was in that state of mind about 6 years ago. You can contact the inventor/manufacturer through the website I posted above. It's a family-run business, so they can be slow responding to the many emails they get. If you are serious about placing an order, a phone call would get you quicker results.

5. If there were ever a drummer to worship,
Danny would be the one. He left the rest of the universe in his dust after Aenima.

A Roland Juno-60 Synthesizer (nearly perfect condition, too):

And my baby (which I don't get to play much anymore) is a 1950s reissue Strat made in Japan in the early '90s: (fat V-neck on this one is GREAT!)

They all cringe when I say "Who wants to go to the music store with me?"

They know that if they go with me, they will be there for at least two hours.

Armstrong solid silver, open holes with B key

Someday when I'm making money again I'd like a native american flute and a wooden european one. But this one is fine for now

18. Thanks!
I enjoy it. Oddly I enjoy scales of all things. I find the repitition comforting.

If you can possibly arrange it; learn on a sterling silver one; they have a much richer tone. Nickel-plated flute sound positively tinny.

I sit outside and just play scales sometimes ... its very comforting playing my clarinet in nature ... time flies by .

Thanks for the advice on a sterling silver one . Its my goal to learn how to play every musical instrument that I can .

22. G&L are great
I played an L-2000 (clear finish over ash, rosewood fingerboard) for years. The sound and quality were topnotch.

These days I plunk away on a 30-year old no-name classical guitar that was inexpensize and sounds pretty nice. When I have time, that is...

I can't post pix. Sorry. Wish i could. I have no place to set them up and then link into The Lounge.

I'd love to show my room with the guitars hanging and stuff. But, i guess i'm still a bit of a Luddite.

24. Can't post pix, but...
have a basic Yamaha F310 acoustic and a Mexican reissue strat (with the natural finish fretboard) and a couple of blues harps (a & g).

Inexpensive guitars, but I don't so much play them as make terrible sounds with them :)

I thought the Mexican strat would help me learn Los Lobos tunes faster!

30. Don't Play The Guitar, But Play With One, Huh?
I always liked that line. "He doesn't play guitar, but he plays with one!"

No knock to you. You just gave me an excuse to use one of my fave music lines.

BTW: My guitar player won, in consecutive years, 2 Mexican Strats and a Mexican Tele at Battle of the Bands stuff. I've played all of them. They are perfectly fine guitars, i think. A wonderful value, given what they cost.

40. I wish this was mine...
This is Neil Peart's new drumset...

He's using Drum Workshop stuff--there is a five-piece DW kit being clearanced out of one of the local music stores with a $5800 price tag on it. And for that much change, you get one bass (a 22-incher at that), two medium-size rack toms, a smallish floor tom and a snare, with the heads on them and the hardware to keep it off the floor, but that's it. No bass pedal. No cymbal stands. No throne. Nothing.
