What an embarrassment to the SEC. bama threw the game away.. there was absolutely NO MOTIVATION there.

we haven't played that poorly all year. Utah played well, but we played our worst. if we had even played like we had against Mississippi State, we could've won.. we played a shitty game though.. and it was the worst coaching i've seen all year. i had a bad feeling about this game. it's not that i think utah is a better team(i don't), but i just didn't have a good feeling going into this game.. i thought we'd get upset, and we did.

oh well, not a huge deal. i was disappointed since i was there, but we weren't supposed to be as good as we were this year and this game really didn't matter since the season is over anyways. of course as a fan i wanted them to win and was sad(but mostly pissed off) that we lost, but it isn't the end of the world.. and i got all of my football fan tears out after the florida game.

i had a good time at the game cheering my team on regardless of the outcome, though of course i was disappointed... and it had been entirely too long since i had been to new orleans. i spent all of yesterday there and then spent the night and spent most of today there. it was a good trip, and worth it.. even if my team didn't win. besides, finally had a good excuse to wear my houndstooth dress. ;)

oh, and bourbon street was batshitcrazy after the game :rofl:
i had to go back to my room relatively early.. it was scary :rofl:

what teams has Utah played this year in order to get their undefeated record?

bama was undefeated until the (soon to be national champions)florida game, and this game they had little motivation going in and a cocky attitude that both hurt them and inspired utah to do better.. whereas utah felt(and still feel) like they have everything to prove since they didn't get into the national championship with their record.

and no.. tradition isn't earning them that record.. after all, everyone expected alabama to not do well this season.. not to mention that since i've been a fan, we've pretty much sucked completely. this season though, we've kicked ass.


also, i haven't "repeated" that alabama is a better team.. matter of fact, i think this is the first time i've said that on this forum.


that being said, we played a shitty, shitty, shitty first half.. and having two of our best players out doesn't excuse it.. our defense was nonexistent in the first half... had we not played the shitty first half that we did, we would've won the game considering that we scored three times in the second half.. though we still played pretty crappy in the second half. there's no excuse for a shitty game though. we SUCKED this game.. and were not playing at the level that we have been playing this year.

12. I think Utah put to rest the myth of SEC speed.

The Utes were fast, and I mean damn fast. Not just the skill positions but the lineman too, especially on defense. I'd love to see 'em take on Florida.

13. alabama's defense wasn't there

that's why they were so fast.. we played zone defense which is bullshit. we didn't pressure their quarterback and that's the biggest reason we lost the game - our defense.

we didn't play at our usual level.. we sucked compared to the rest of our season this year, and that's what is so disappointing as a fan - knowing that your team didn't play at their usual level and knowing that they are better than that. it pissed me off, but oh well. we did better than expected this year, and this game was nothing more than a vanity game considering that the season is already over and done with.

17. nope.. bama was missing key players on the offensive line and our defense wasn't there

that's why we lost.. we also didn't have drive and motivation - which utah had plenty of.

utah did well, but had alabama played at the level they had been playing at this year.. they would've won the game. pre-florida bama didn't show up though.. and that's why we lost.

that being said, congrats to the utes. they played well and seemed very excited about the win.

The Mountain West has always been a "speed and finesse" league. Utah, BYU, TCU, and Air Force have all enjoyed success in recent years by running schemes similar to those in the SEC.

Of course, the New York media slugs who worship at the throne of the Big 10 and Notre Dame will still say that it is boring Joe Pa ball that wins...
