iPod question

My laptop that had all my iTunes/iPod stuff on it decided to not work anymore. Here's my question: If I install the software on a different computer, will I have any problems importing the songs that are currently on my iPod? I really want to download new songs but not if it means messing up what I already have.

It's been a problem for me because I like to use ITunes on my high-speed work connection and my company seems to change out my computer about every 20 minutes.

the only songs I didn't purchase from the iTunes store are from my cd's so this shouldn't be an issue.

8. I used "CopyTrans"

It wasn't free to download if I remember correctly, but it was relatively cheap and easy.
