Feeling second best??
Has anyone ever felt second best at anything. Relationships, at work Or just life in general. I'm tired of feeling second best and thought I was getting out of it to only feel that way again. Any one else ever feel this way??

Just wondering.

1. I dream of feeling second best.
:) I usually feel like I'm in the position of striving just for that. I look at it this way. If I'm second best, or even third, it isn't all that bad really. It still means there are a lot more people below me than above me on the ladder.

2. All my life...
especially in relationships. I've always felt like I was the consolation prize...the person someone was with to mark time until something better came along.

3. My wife and I were saying this very thing tonight....
we're both hard working, good parents, mind our business, our manners, all the usual stuff, and yet, life is really taking us for a run right now.
We feel we don't deserve it and quite frankly for all the shit we've been put through we deserve a little something, but alas it hasn't happened.
We try to stay optimistic though.

4. I meant to respond to this earlier
I have been thinking lately that my life is proof that no matter hard one tries, one loses. I spent the past number of years thinking I'm not good enough, even when I am drawn towards someone and they toward me. I am not a loser in any sense of the word, and neither is anyone else.

You are as good as others, and time will show that to be true.

I could go on, but, I don't want to preach.

5. I've felt pretty second-best here lately
but I got observed teaching today, and the observer from the Dept. of Education told me that I kicked ass in no uncertain terms.

I said that to say this... keep hanging on and plugging away, things will clear up soon with almost absolute certainty.

7. Thank you all very much
It was nice to wake up this morning and see all of your posts. I couldn't sleep last night and debated even turning the computer on. It was nice to wake up this morning and realize that I'm not the only one to feel this way.

Thank you one and all!!
