Does this make sense to ANYONE?
On Sunday we went to Chicago to meet a friend for dinner at a vegetarian restaurant.

While the group of us are sitting there, enjoying our meal, a woman walks in and everyone stares at her. She walks in wearing a leather and fur jacket.

Is it just me or does that make very little sense to anyone?

(BTW, if you ever have the chance to go to Chicago Diner DO IT! They've got great food. So does Blind Faith Cafe in Evanston.)

1. LOL!
Poor woman was probably just clueless.

I once saw someone walk into an Alcoholics Anonymous convention wearing a Budweiser t-shirt. It was the only thing he owned, and he didn't realize until people started giving him dirty looks.

2. Some people are vegetarians strictly for nutritional reasons and not

out of a sense of guilt. :hi:

On edit: Now if she walked into a PETA convention...well then she'd be an idiot!!! ;)

5. I realize that...
But most of them have a clue as to why others do it. Something like that seems to be kind of a slap in the face to others.

11. It wasn't out of anger that I looked...
It was more of a 'huh?' kind of thing.

3. Makes no sense at all
it's rude to stare at people. Even vegetarians should know that.

9. Hear, hear!
That kind of PC makes me want to go in there in my leather jacket. And screw you if you don't like it. I've gone into redneck bars wearing a union army blue kepi. Self-righteous vegans don't scare me.

10. And rude meat eaters don't scare me...
But I'm too polite to say anything about it.

13. Not self-righteous at all...
I work in Room Service. People are more than welcome to order what they'd like. I make no judgment based on their diet or lifestyle choices.

People ask me how something (like a burger) is and I honestly tell them that I haven't had it. I sell a lot of them but have never personally tried it.

I don't force my opinions or belief on anyone.

4. How do you know it was real leather/fur?
And maybe she eats vegan for health reasons, not out of guilt?

14. OMFG! I just realized that
I did this!

Last summer, when my sweetie and I were on a motorcycle camping trip, we went to a terrific vegetarian restaurant in Seward........oh, shit, I remember I was wearing my leathers.

God, is my face RED. How dumb! Next time, I can put on my jeans and leave the coat at the campsite. Urrgh............. What an idiot. I didn't even THINK about it!

I will now!!!

15. I did that once.
Walked into a shop that, while not strictly vegetarian, was might darn close, wearing my leather jacket. Had to stand in line for a sandwich (as is normal for that place.) About 1/2way through the line I notice surly looks from the staff there. Get up to the front, step forward to place my order and get silenced by the glare of my sandwich guy.

Silence for a moment.

Then he cracks up and says "I wasn't going to serve you, but that Speed Racer tie is too darn funny."

I'd worn it as a joke that day. Lucky me.

Speed saves.

16. Surreal life
If you had watched the Surreal life on TV we thought the same thing with the one actress. She was totally against eating meat because you had to kill an animal but then was wearing a leather hat and sleeping with an animal print blanket. It was pretty funny to watch.

17. Seems ironic, if not worthy of a sitcom...
Oops, "The Piglet Files" did that in 1990! :D
