1. I miss Art
I didn't know he'd come back. I cannot stand that right-wing moron George Nouri.

2. Agree
Nouri wants to move the show away from its Fortean roots and turn it into a kinder and gentler version of Hannity. Mainstream RW drivel with a side order of financial advice.

I'd rather listen to some dirt farmer from Australia give his account of the black triangle that abducted him and a tribe of Yowies.

6. No kidding. The Fortean stuff was what made Coast-to-Coast.
No matter how ridiculous some of that stuff is, the weirder stories still can bring on a chill in the dark at 2:00 a.m.

And Art Bell was never afraid of presenting a skeptical viewpoint to his guests when clearly warranted. Nouri never does that. I can't tell if he's the most gullible person on Earth, or if he just shamelessly panders to the most gullible. Either way, he's an assclown.

I do like Ian Punnett on the weekends. If Art's finding his way back to the show, I might have to listen more often.

3. It was an amusing show, but infuriating at times because he rarely...
...opted to ask the most basic skeptical questions of his guests.

4. Exactly. Fun to listen to, but hard to take anything away from it.
It was still pretty interesting stuff for the middle of the night though.

5. He hinted at a comeback
Someone called the other night and asked him about it and he said something like "It's in my blood so you never know".

7. I remember the infinitely deep hole
Some rancher claimed that he bought a piece of property that had a hole that went really deep. Really strange things happened to things that were thrown into the hole...

9. Ah yes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mel%27s_Hole

I've been to Ellensburg. It's one one of the two routes over the Cascade Mountains, both currently closed, at least as of this morning.

Did my first multi-pitch climb not far from E-Burg.

Never saw any unusually deep hole.

10. The story is probably BS, but that's not really the point.
I always found it entertaining and it made you wonder. The stuff they talked about COULD be real after all... ;-)
