Go with the latter.

2. Damn. Bad pizza really sucks.
Come here.

I have one of the best NY neighborhood pizza joints in my neighborhood. And the pizza place that has repeatedly won the competition for best pizza in the US is also near me. Come here and we'll go out for real pizza.

:hi:

Bring friends, especially if they're DUers. :)

4. Let me guess. Is it Ray's pizza?
I hear that Ray's is the most popular joint in town.:sarcasm:

16. Really, which one? I hear there are no less than 5 Ray's Pizza's in NY proper.

17. Any of them.

I've eaten at a few Ray-Bari Pizza locations a few times, but that's because I know the Bari family. But they're not directly connected with Ray's Pizza. I'm not sure about the history and how they got the "Ray" in their name originally. But that's the closest I've ever come to the typical Ray's pizza.

There are thousands of small family owned pizza joints in this city, and those are usually the places to go.

10. The aforementioned Mr. Pizza is actually quite good, and it reheats well
But early this afternoon I called to see how late they were open tonight, and I was told 5:00.

So at 4:15 I called to place my order, and the guy on the phone said they were closed.

"I thought you were open until five," I protested.

"We, uh, got a lot of orders," said the guy, "and we closed."

So we had to settle for Pizza Joe's. In a competition between two pizza joints, Pizza Joe's comes in a distant fourth.

15. I'm a native Pittsburgher,
and I eat my Primanti's without the coleslaw ('course, I have an excuse, my stomach just can't deal with it).

Also, being an hour out of Pittsburgh ain't an excuse. I know of at least one restaurant that far from the city. :P

I gotta admit, I've lived in Pittsburgh my whole life (aside from college in central Ohio), and I don't think I've heard of either of those pizza places. Try asking a native if you want great pizza. :hi:

18. No Primanti's this far north of the city
And I've had pizza from that place in Dormont that's supposed to be the divine essence of pizza, and I was underwhelmed.

Mr. Pizza is just fine, thanks! :hi:
