Poll question: What one issue would you cease opposition to
What one issue would you cease opposition to if it meant kicking bush* out of the White House?

For me its my opposition to gay marriage. If it meant bush* would get stomped, humiliated, bitchslapped in the general election I would stop all opposition to gay marriage. Its that important to me.
What about you?

1. Gun control
I will let that go, it's a losing issue for the Democrats.

3. The gun clubs are up for grabs right now
They are starting to realize that Bush's environmental programs are bullshit. What good are their guns going to be if there is nothing left to shoot at.

11. Allowing more assault weapons
on the streets would kill so many innocent people. I'm surprised more didn't choose drilling for oil over guns. That can't say your more interested in wildlife that can be repaired over innocent life can't be replaced?

2. School vouchers...
Seems like it would do the least damage.

I'm pro-gay marriage and can't let go of that issue.

4. School vouchers would gut funding to the already staggering
public education system creating a whole new generation of apathetic semi-citizens. I think we're in the mess we're in in large part because we haven't stood up for the public schools for decades.

I'll let gun control go of the options.

10. Maybe I'm just bitter about my kids' experience...
but they've been screwed over enough by that staggering system. All I've seen in my area is mismanagement of funds, incompetence and apathy on the part of all parties. Whenever I've attempted to offer my thoughts and talents to make things better, I've been ignored or sloughed off.

I'm worn out from trying to fight for the schools here. The kind of overhaul they need can only be accomplished by gutting the system.

9. Agreed
School Vouchers suck but I guess I could force myself to live with it. I'm not a kid anymore and I don't have any kids.

12. Other
I'm mostly anti-abortion, but I'll vote for anyone who opposes Shrub. Also, I don't like the idea of there being no abortion in a Republican-controlled state. They only care about kids until the mother pops them out. Pretty twisted if you ask me.

I guess I'm more pro-birth control than anything. If birth control were practiced religiously, the need for abortion would be almost nil. But the Republicans can't have that...oh no!

13. I would cross my fingers and trust that someday
nature would revitalize itself in Alaska. That is the one issue I could relax on pretty easily -- so we drill for oil in Alaska. Without whistle-ass in office, Alaska is better off, even if we do drill for oil there.

I am SHOCKED that the original poster would willingly make tens of millions of Americans offical second-class citizens. To me, that is the ultimate "slippery slope," and I couldn't go there.

Perhaps I misunderstood what the original poster meant -- to avoid bias in my answer, I am replying before reading the rest of the thread. I hope I did.

14. Why should I compromise any of my principles?
It's okay to sell out some group? I don't think so.
