I Just Saw a Man Collapse.
I was out getting a few chocolates for gifts, and a man walking in the door with his family collapsed and starting convulsing. His family started screaming. I called 911 and he was awake and alert before the paramedic got there.

I am still shaking from it. It is scary to see things like that. The energy is so strong.

1. I was in a Thai restaurant a few years ago with my husband, and...
a young man fell from his booth to the floor of the restaurant and started seizing. His girlfriend cried for help and some of the other diners ran over to wipe his face. He seized several times. They called the paramedics and he luckily walked out of the restaurant.

I know how you feel - it's VERY scary because it's so sudden and disturbing. I am glad that he was awake before the paramedics arrived.

2. When I worked in a restaurant we had a customer
become ill or have a heart attack now and then. Amazing to see who springs into action- it turned out the very laid back bartender had emergency training. He knew what to do before the paramedics got there.

3. I surprised myself with how cool I was during the event.
As I drove off, and the paramedics came in, I was nearly paralyzed for some moments.

4. that's some scary shit
A number of years ago, a girlfriend of mine just collapsed as we were about to walk out the door of my house. We hadn't been drinking or anything, no drugs.... just collapsed, eyes rolled back... fuck! She woke up seconds later and didn't know what happened, but it scared the shit out of me.

7. That same thing happened to me once.
Later on we realized, "Oh yeah... she gave blood earlier today. D'oh."

But at the time we were a wee bit worried when she collapsed with no apparent reason.

6. I walked by a man who had fallen on the ice the other day. There was a crowd
around him taking care of him and they called 911. So I walked on. I got to my parent's place the other day and found out my dad had had a fall (he didn't hurt himself) and a whole crowd of people were there right away to lift him up. My mom broke her wrist in a fall this fall. She's had like three operations since. It seems it doesn't end. I'm worried about them because it is so dangerous outside for seniors. I wake up every day and hope they are okay.

8. That's a hard thing to see
I was on a train once when the man in front of me started seizing.

He was with his mother, and I asked if there was anything I could do. She asked me to go get some water and I did.

I really feel for people with epilepsy. :(
