1. It's a video game console..

..that is very innovative and lets people move around instead of sitting on their butts pushing buttons!

2. What if you don't play video games anyway?
I don't think I need one.

3. If you don't like or play video games..

...you probably don't need one! Even if you do play, you may not need one!

4. If you don't play video games, I think whatever a Wii is is moot.

6. It's simple.
The Nintendo Wii is video game console for people who don't play video games but occasionally want to. In that regard, the Wii is perfect. However, for those who consider themselves "serious" gamers, they'll be playing on the other two consoles, the Microsoft XBox 360 and the Sony Playstation 3. The Wii just doesn't have the same depth when it comes to the catalog of games available.

On a personal note, I equate the Wii with being the world's most technically advanced board game. It's great when you have a few friends over but most of the time you're not going to bother with it.

8. Video game console by Nintendo
It has wireless controllers that have accelerometers in them, so you can play tennis or boxing orStar Wars lightsaber games simply by waving a pair of controllers around.

In fact, when it was first released the lanyard from the controllers would sometimes break, resulting in the controllers being flung through flatscreen TVs! :D

Here's "WiiFit Girl" practicing the hula hoop game on an optional floor sensor pad:
