Pagans, What are your solstice plans/rituals?
Winter solstice has always been one of my favorite days of the year. I'm a Sun kind of guy and hate the darkness of winter. I hate snow. Great stuff on post cards but give me a white sand beach, turquoise water, palm trees and a Mohito any day. I do love the rain though. Anyway, the idea that the days will henceforth be getting longer has always been a source of joy to me but I have never before really celebrated the Solstice other than in an inward just being grateful kind of way so...

How do you acknowledge this great day? Sunrise party? Sunset party? Feasting? Fasting? Bacchanalia type activity?

1. I'm a formerly practicing pagan (somewhat more agnostic now), but i'll be lifting a toast
I'm thinking of making some mulled cider and making cookies, and toasting the return of the sun.

I don't think i'm officially 'seasonal-affective', but i am definitely a happier person in the months where we have more sun exposure.
