6. I didn't know
the album had been out that long. It's great all around.

I was hoping they'd be playing somewhere in Texas while I'm down there but it doesn't look like it.

not the least of which was the national rollerderby championships. that's when I decided to apply there for grad school. haha

14. as a southerner, who both loves and hates the south, i love it
Edited on Fri Dec-19-08 09:38 PM by Ava
it has the southern hospitality feel to it that i love, but while being in a decent sized city with diversity and a weirdly cool atmosphere and population.

16. There's nothing like
those liberal/cultural enclaves in the South. Austin might be the best of them. You get all the craziness, friendliness, and character of the South but with a left wing edge. I'd go to Asheville NC if they had a grad school there. :hippie: I really miss living in the South sometimes. :nopity:

17. don't forget new orleans
one of my favorite cities.. savannah, ga is awesome too. it's those artsy cities in the south that i love. then tend to be more open-minded and left leaning.. not to mention they have good music and art.

25. Seeing Spoon often was a perk of living in Austin.
Oh, and for a while, Britt Daniel would be at every show I attended. He would always stand in front of me. He's TALL. x( It was a running joke for my friend and I.
