10. Why do you say Lily Tomlin is dead?...
If this is true, I didn't know what to say. She is an artist and I adore her. Hope this is your idea of humor because I can't imagine a world without her.

If this is your idea of humor, you need to get a life.

confused with Gilda Radner (who was a TRAGIC loss). It would make me physically ill to discover Lily was dead! Sorry for the overreaction, but she's one of my personal favorites.

11. Robert Stack!
He was my favorite. He's probably the only actor I ever had a crush on and he's almost old enough to be my grandfather.

I also liked Robert Preston (``The Music Man''), Dana Andrews (``Laura'') and my two all-time favorite leading men, Sir Laurence Olivier and Cary Grant!

43. I see your Peter Lorre and raise you John Garfield.
I truly wish Lorre and Bogart were still around, but it's Garfield who was cut down the earliest and most tragically. He would have had a hell of a career if he hadn't faced the blacklist and died so young.

I'll also add Marilyn Monroe, who, although I don't admire here, died much too young. Read Gloria Steinem's essay on her in "Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions" and you'll be moved.

22. I think the thread should be ammended
to actors who died before their time... A lot of these people died when they were good and ready J/K. But certain actors left this world far too early and in the professional prime.

John Candy... I miss him

25. Brandon Lee, Tupac Shakur, Deforrest Kelley, John Belushi, Robert
Mitchum, Gregory Peck, Jack Lemmon, and, no matter how old he was when he died it was still tragic, Jimmy Stewart. I hate old movies, but I love Jimmy Stewart.

Oh yeah, and Rivers Phoenix. He and Tupac belong in the "You brought it on yourself, idiot" category, but still sad.

Katherine Hepburn was in a league of her own. Four lead Oscars, no telling how many nominations. No equal.

...."Dean Martin". He had the sexiest voice I've ever heard from a man, he could be hilariously funny when he acted with Jerry Lewis, and he could act too.

edited for clarification: When I mentioned he "could act too" I meant in very serious roles. Dean Martin was just good.

..Steve Inhat........many may remember this very talented actor from his role as Captain Garth of Izar in the Star Trek TOS episode ..."Whom Gods Destroy".

..Michael Dunn......Miguelito Loveless from The Wild Wild West series in the late 1960's. What a smile he had.

..Sharon Tate...simply beautiful and working her way to becoming an accomplished actress.

All these fine actors died way too young....and I miss them.

Natalie was one of the most beautiful people ever to appear on the silver screen.

Audrey was gorgeous too, and one of the biggest class acts ever to come along. I bet Africa wishes they had her there today instead of what they have now.

Oh, to have this great actor back again - "Big Sleep" - one of my 5 favorite movies. I can watch this over and over. I love the scenes when he first meets Lauren Bacall and her weird sister - also, in the bookstore when he shares a half pint with the clerk. What they didn't show in those days - now that was something.
