WOW!!! I just sent an email to an old friend and received a response...
...just ONE MINUTE LATER!!!

She must have been looking right at her computer screen with her in-box up and a break in her routine so she could answer right away!

I typed the short note and hit "send," then a short reply came the very next minute. I didn't know what it was at first since it came back so quickly. It took me longer to realize what it was than it took for her to reply. I just sat and looked at it thinking, "What is that? Did she send me an email, too? Did we both send each other emails at precisely the same instant?" Kind of like when you pick up the phone and there's no dial tone but a voice on the other end says, "Hello?" and it turns out to be the person you were calling and you two picked up the phone and dialed each other at the exact same moment.

It was uncanny!

That's the fastest response I've ever had!

...maybe she likes me!

1. My dear KansDem!
Maybe she does like you!

Or, maybe she's just curious...

What did her note say?

Good for you!

2. She lives in California...
...and I asked her how she fared with the fires last month.

She responded that she and her family were all right.

Maybe she sensed a urgency since if she didn't reply right away, I might have thought something happened?

I had received an email from another friend living in Yorba Linda who said he had to evacuate. I knew the fires were bad but didn't know a friend of mine was directly affected by them, so I thought I'd send her an email asking how she was doing.
