What would be a good Xmas present for a 3 year old girl?
as much as I hate buying into the commercialism of the season; I also hate to think of a little girl I know, who is a hell of a sweetheart and for some insane reason likes me, going without a present. As much of a rat bastard as I can be this time of year, I want to try to get something she'd like, but I have no clue what to get for her...

2. I'm not sure (my "little girl" is nearly 29 years old), but check these out:
http://www.babyscholars.com/3years.html

http://www.fatbraintoys.com/toys/toys_by_ages/girls/top_picks_3.cfm

http://www.shopping.com/xGS-best_toys_for_a_3_year_old_girl

Hopefully, you can get some good ideas from those sites.

Good luck.

And BTW, you're aren't as much of a rat bastard as you think you are, if you care enough to find a gift for this little girl. :)

3. You are so sweet!

A good place to start just for ideas is at gifts.com

Link for her age group:
ts.com/recipients/ohr2ai80cp

This is sweet!

Maybe give her something to love and cuddle

I loke this one!
Give her something to love and cuddle

And the stuffed animals are adorable

Am sure whatever you get her, it will give her great feeling just because it came from you :hi:

secondly, thanks for the suggestions. With the exception of the drum set, they all helped me come up with something I think she'd like...

9. Depending on if I can find them at the mall...
A nice big stuffed coyote, and a copy of The House at Pooh Corner. I figure those and a plate of home-made sugar cookies ought to be enough...

10. Very cool!
I've yet to meet a 3 year old, boy or girl, who doesn't like a stuffed animal or The House at Pooh Corner.

The cookies are definitely a great touch.

13. A doll(y)
A wonderful cloth/rag doll that she can cuddle and carry...

Three-year-old girls love dollies...

There are many places where you can find a nice cloth/rag doll that she no doubt will love...

I have made a few dolls myself and can make one for you to give to her, if you like...the price will be reasonable (and I could really use the money...) PM me if you're interested...

16. Something they can actually use and do things with is good at that age.
Crayons and paper/coloring books, Duplo blocks, ect.

I think for my neice's christmases around that age one year I got her Duplos, another year I got her a giant (bigger than her at the time. :P) doll of Flik from A Bug's Life because she loved that movie. I don't remember what I got my little sister at that age though. That was too long ago.

33. They're made by Lego, but they're huge and have soft edges
but, if I recall correctly, they can actually still attach to regular lego blocks. :) So even when the kids are old enough for regular legos, they can still use their old Duplo blocks as a base.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duplo

I just got her a small box, something like http://www.amazon.com/My-First-LEGO-DUPLO-Set/dp/B000SI9Y6A/">this one or http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-4525433-DUPLO-Basic-Bricks/dp/B000WO7Y12/">this one.

25. My go-to gifts are always art supplies and fun bath stuff. They run out and don't break. Perfect.
Art supplies: Crayons, HUGE pad of paper, glitter pens, fancy markers, stickers, and so on.

Bath stuff: I try to avoid bubble bath (esp. for girls) because of the UTI risk. But there's a lot of other fun stuff too:

Bath color tablets:
http://www.bansheecandles.com/servlet/the-780/Color-dsh-Your-dsh-Bath-Tablets/Detail
http://www.crayolastore.com/product_detail.asp?T1=CRA+021442&.

Bath crayons:
http://www.pricehot.com/bathcrayons.html

Kids find fizzy bath bombs hilarious:
http://www.shebassecrets.com/kidsbombs.php

You can also make your own bath bombs, but rat bastards aren't generally found in the kitchen mixing up bath potions. I may be wrong about you, though. :p

30. My little girl
liked picture books when she was 3. She also liked soft, fluffy stuffed animals. She liked Teletubbies DVD's and The Wiggles. You can spend 25 bucks on a three year old and they are really impressed...

Now she is all grown up - she's 8. She likes P¡nk and her iPod now. :)

It is also a good age to introduce games like Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, matching games. Something that encourages physical play would also be a good idea, especially since kids live more sedentary lives than they did 20 years ago.

39. If you can find a stuffed animal that is just about the right huggable size...
that would be the sweetest gift you could give. Kids that age like to feel safe and secure and to have something to hug a lot.

Hell, while you are at it, I'd like a nice stuffed animal about my size too. I've always wanted a soft Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer stuffed animal with a nose that lights up when you push a button. It would be like a comfort huggy toy AND a flashlight when you need it.

You'll want to avoid getting anything they get her, although a stuffed animal is probably your best bet. Just don't get one bigger than they got her, unless you don't care about that sort of thing.
