8. "Love in Vain" Robert Johnson, Rolling Stones, Keb Mo
Edited on Wed Dec-10-08 10:17 AM by Jim__
I think Keb Mo's version is the best by far. But, I can't find an online version by Robert Johnson or Keb Mo. This is the Stones (live and not the best version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMMg6iBQUeg

I found a version of Keb Mo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkrapUIhh9c

17. Blinded by the Light.
Blinded by the Light, originally by Springsteen and covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band (I think).

Although I dig both, I like the Springsteen version better though as it "rocks" rather than "flows" like the Earth Band's cover.

20. You can combine the first two...
Same song/artist. Both Harry Chapin. To the best of my knowledge, Cat Stevens never covered this song. A common misconception.

24. Mad World by Tears For Fears
I'm the ONLY PERSON IN THE ENTIRE WORLD who likes the Tears For Fears version just as much as the Gary Jules one. I'm serious, I know this for a fact. I've seen AT LEAST 500 PEOPLE say how much more they like the version that's in Donnie Darko :banghead:

I'm too upset to look up the links right now

37. I greet you! I think the remake is way too moody and sad. TFF's is a little angrier and yet
more hopeful. I think. I mean, I've only listened to it like 17,000 times from age 13-17.

I love the original by Dio, but the new one by Killswitch engage adds a modern metal flair that keeps the song interesting.
