Daddy Will Do 11 Years For Daughter's Porn Pictures

FEDERAL BUILDING, DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS -- A federal judge has sentenced a McNairy County, Tennessee, man to 11 years in prison for producing and distributing pornography of his teenage daughter.

A jury convicted Steven Joseph Yurick last year on eight counts of shooting, possessing and distributing sexually explicit pictures of his daughter between May 2000 and July 2002. Yurick started taking the pictures when she�was 12 years old. The�federal indictment said Yurick had pictures stored on a computer hard drive and a CD-ROM disc. The On Your Side Investigators found the pictures posted on a fee-based website owned and run by Yurick.

But before U.S. District Court Judge Bernice Donald, Yurick broke down and wept. He said what started as a way to help his daughter realize her dreams of becoming a model went way out of control.

"I started out in this to help my daughter," Yurick told Donald from a podium in front of the bench. "Somewhere, I lost track of how to be a father. These decisions cost us dearly. For that, I'm truly sorry."

"Yurick's daughter testified at his sentencing, saying she was eager to start a modeling career, and it was her idea to have the pictures taken and published on the Internet. His attorney, Michael Pleasants, said Yurick gave any money he made from the pictures to his daughter or to cover expenses. Pleasants then told Donald the pictures barely meet the legal definition of "sexually explicit."
