SUNDAY ART: Hecate at Four

Another from my goddesses* series. Enjoy!


Hekate at Four
12 x 12 cm, mixed media on prepared paper
Materials: Texts from original sources in English, French, German,
Latin, Japanese and Cherokee; Japan paper; family photographs;
stamps from India, Canada and Russia (I think it's Russia, anyway);
lacquer-based ink; acrylic paint; powdered mica; Japan paper.

*Hekate, goddess of the crossroads (and able to travel between worlds, according
to some legends,) is depicted here by an old photo of our youngest goddaughter.

5. Oh, burning it a little bit, back from an evening @ the boys, haven't seen them in ages...

I'm more the old-fashioned type: lots and lots of book pages, Japan paper, glues, paint and whatever else I can find in this ever-shrinking little studio. :spray:

15. Much of the "good" of this piece lies, I believe,

in the face of Luisa. She was such an independent and strong-willed, very individual child. If I weren't so lazy, I'd go upstairs and get my iPhone and upload a photo of her now, at 14. She's really a little goddess in mind and spirit. :)
