Poll question: A Christmas Story - funniest/most memorable moment?
For me, one of my guilty pleasures of the holiday season is this movie. Not only do I think it's just plain funny, but it puts me in a good mood and reminds me of how dysfunctional my own family can be...especially around the holidays. Also, this movie has become a Christmas tradition in my family.

Not only that, but this is a very "quotable" movie. Do any of the moments below stand out to you? Do you have any others?

Also, if you hate this movie (and I'm sure some of you do), feel free to say so. I promise I can take it. :)

2. Yes! That's another good one!

Sometimes it's a shame that DU polls are limited to only 10 choices.

5. His father weaving a tapestry of swear words, sounds like my dad.
I used to go out and help him change the oil on our 1970's model van. I could write down new swear words that way.

13. Yup. Nothing like a cranky coal furnace to bring out the poet
in the Old Man. Mule skinners, DIs and Calcutta stevedores would weep in admiration.

4. Chinese restaurant by far.
In college there was a campus carol sing and as soon as a few of my fraternity brothers sung "fah ra ra ra ra rara ra ra!" everybody else either cracked up or just sung along. It was a universally recognized reference, even the 90 year old nuns got it.

6. Fra-gee-lay, but...
'Fra-gee-lay' was our family's favorite. As I watched it more and more, my personal favorite has to be after the mom breaks the lamp, they fight about running out of glue, and the old man gruffly puts his cap on and shouts 'NOT A FINGA!'
