Post teaching career options?
So I am in my fourth year of teaching. I am finding myself lacking the passion, enthusiasm that a person needs to excel or even survive teaching. I have a while to really think about it but I think i might choose another profession. Are there any former teachers here that have tried that? Are there any people here who have friends/relatives who did so? What profession outside of teaching with suit would suit a teacher?

1. LOL. I'm four professions out of teaching.
Teaching isn't a definer. Decide what you like. What you want to do, and then go for it. Short of another teaching job, most employers are just happy you were employed.

2. What subject are you teaching?
I was an English teacher for one whole year (woo hoo :eyes: ) and realized I didn't have "it". I tried advertising :puke:, editing teaching product catalogs, and writing for a magazine. I'm now a freelance writer and editor.

4. Oh, I'm afraid I don't know a lot about alternate career options for Social Studies teachers
But I do know that if your heart isn't in teaching, as you said, it's just death to stay in the profession. I hope someone else here can advise you on specifics of changing careers! :hi:
