64. kinda - in that pic, but not IRL
He is normal sized and has a big fluffy tail, I am pretty sure she must have been the runt in her litter (although age and inactivity help balance the size difference). She has a short muzzle and a bit of an underbite, and her tail is about 2 inches shorter than normal. Also she is completely a shorthair.

5. Madimi's a little terror.
Her favorite game is the one where she pretends she's a lion and I'm a wildebeest. I had the audacity to leave for an overnight trip (leaving her plenty of food and water, mind you) and came home to find a chair overturned.

9. The same one Mom's sitting in, in that photo.
It's a cheap little Urban Outfitters chair with a canvas body on a metal frame. Not real heavy. But still, a bit of a shock to realize that Madimi still had her nightly Crazy Time even without me. :D

14. She's a tortoiseshell.
Apparently they have a rep for being mischievous. I only learned about this when it was too late. :D

Torties are almost always female - something about the way that color pattern is transmitted pretty much requires an XX chromosome. But basically the coloring comes from a black cat and an orange tabby (I can see tabby stripes in her orange patches.)

Nope, Pumpkin is not Maine Coon. The vet said she's a Tabby.

To me it looks like Pumpkin has some Maine Coon in her genes.

16. Tabby is a coloring description, not a breed.
Historical trivia fact: tabby cats are named that because their striped pattern resembled that of the historical carpets and weavings from Tabriz.

Maine Coons can certainly be tabby colored. I think your cats are probably moggie-mutts, but I bet there is Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat blood in there, if they're big. YOu can tell by the lynx tufts on their ears.

The top floor of the old house was entirely given over to kittehs, so using this pseudo-apartment upstairs in the new place was a no-brainer. There they can rule, and look down on us all.
