Poll question: DEXTER FANS: 2nd or 3rd season better?
I think the first season is tough to beat, but I'm wondering what people think of this season compared to last.

1. Equally as good.
All three seasons have been different but all have been great. Dexter is a terrific show.

2. AWESOME pic in your post.
I saw that movie in the theater and remember it like it was yesterday. As I left the theater there must have been a half dozen fistfights in the parking lot.

4. Yeah my neighborhood went nuts after that movie.
Every corner (gang) had their Ajax, their Swan and the like.

5. Are you kidding?
At the time the street hockey team in my neighborhood was called the Van Courtland Rangers, and our rivals from one street over called themselves the Turnbull ACs.

12. Have you played the videogame?
It is outstanding. They really flesh out the background story and use many of the original characters for the voice acting.

13. No, I don't play videogames at all.
Have you seen the new DVD version? They added comic drawings to it - it's a fucking travesty, if you'll pardon my French (and even if you won't).

16. Yes, I've seen the director's cut.
Hill claims this was how he wanted it from the beginning, it's based on an ancient Greek story and it was never meant to be taken the way it was. He feels that if it was presented as the fantasy/comic book story it was, none of the violence that surrounded its release would have happened, which is utter nonsense. I too find it to be a travesty. Fortunately I have the original.

The videogame is great. It shows how Cleon and Vermin formed The Warriors as a breakoff from another gang called The Destroyers, how they recruited all the other members, how they take over Coney and go all-city and it sets up the events that lead up to Cyrus' big meeting on the VC Rangers turf. It is really well done and well thought out. The action is great, the fighting is brutal, it's just a ton of fun, particularly if you're a fan of the movie.

3. I don't see how one can judge yet. (SPOILER FOLLOWS)
If the scenes from this week's episode really mean that Miguel killed that public defender, and Miguel turns into a serial killer, this could be amazing. However, there is potential for a lame ending as well, which could consist of something like either Miguel getting caught and trying to take Dexter down with him, or - worse still - Miguel developing a conscience and trying to reform Dexter.

I could do without the wedding subplot, but I'll keep an open mind until I see where it goes.

I think the third season has the potential to be the best OR the worst season of the show. It's just too early to tell.

7. I don't think Miguel will grow a conscience--more likely, Dexter will take him out like promo song:
''two can keep a secret if one of us is dead.''

14. I don't either.
I was just using that as one example of how the season could go lame.

11. 3, This season
Although I'm annoyed by the fiance now too. But, she's only in a bit. Relationships proceed I guess. Gotta keep his cover.
I'm going to mention the shirt again. Dexter's got something on Miguel. I don't see Miguel going back, I see him going further and further.
Dexter knows how to cover his tracks!!!
It could be a really good ending.
As for Season 2, that bitch. Yuck, every time she opened her mouth I wanted to tape a napkin in it!!!!
So, season 2 disappointed me!!!

15. She was perfect. (SPOILERS for people who haven't seen Season 2)

The character needed to be a loathsome bitch to make her death such a great ending and for her murder of Doakes to work so well in the story.

8. I'm really enjoying this season
I would say that this season compares to season 1. The only thing I don't care for is his fiance who is completely different now than when she was first introduced. Dexter liked her because she was broken and didn't expect huge commitments from him (or sex) but now she's pregnant and nags him all the time. She annoys me.

10. 2 > 3
Last year was better. Miguel is Lila with a penis. His brother is a sad imitation of Doakes.

17. Lila was too soap opera--it would have been better if she had been less freakish looking
more like a dumpy housefrau, just as Miguel seems like a dull mid-level civil servant.

Dexter is best when the only character too far out of the ordinary is Dexter himself.
