Nirvana for baseball nerds!
Got a poster autographed by Johnny Pesky, "Mr. Red Sox", who has been with the team as a player, manager, coach, instructor, and broadcaster for 60 years, and who had his number 6 retired by the team in September.
Met Chris Carpenter, a NH native who is the ace of the St. Louis Cardinals pitching rotation.
Scored autographs from Jesse Litsch of the Blue Jays, ex Orioles and Mets infielder Mike Bordick, Worcester Tornadoes manager Rich Gedman (who caught Roger Clemens famous 20 strikeout game), and several rising stars in the Red Sox, Cubs, Jays, and Braves systems.
Got to thank Bernie Carbo for that pinch hit home run in the 1975 World Series that made me one very happy 8 year old (that got a big grin out of him).
Saw Chris Carpenter get in a bidding war for a guitar autographed by Sammy Hagar.
Heard Mary Pratt, a player in the WW II era women's baseball league, lead the crowd in the Rockford Peaches team song, with the Papelbon brothers keeping time as they banged on the table.
