Poll question: Which "Good Times" charcter can you stand the least?
Florida - the lovely mother
James - the protective and savvy dad
Thelma - the daughter
Michael - the "militant midget"
JJ - Kid (claps hands) a-Dyn-O-Miiiite!! :eyes:
Wilona - the hot nosy neighbor

1. Wasn't Wilona's daughter played
by Janet Jackson? I forgot what the character's name was.

Yes, she was.
Wilona's daugher was named Penny and was played by Janet.

3. Penny
Yup, she became Wilona's daughter. 6th season.

It was the show's final chance to redeem itself and the 4-part season opener story was rather good as I recall (1), but the producers still preferred putting JJ into the limelight. :-( The early seasons struggle to be good and do have many great moments, but as they start to become more JJ-centric, it gets hard to watch. Once in a while the "Dyn-o-mite!" gag is funny, but only when he says it out of excitement for something good happening, not as a description of himself.

After all, what if I went around all hyper clapping "I am the white kid a-DYN-O-MIIIIITE!!!"? :scared:

(1) They got Esther Rolle back to reprise her role of Florida, which said a lot - starting with season 2, she'd gotten fed up with the producers, because of Jimmie Walker.

2. I've seen JJ a few times on talk shows and was surprised to find he is
a Republican....Very right wing in his beliefs...
