So I Was Just At This Gas Station

Saw this minivan getting gas, the lady, looked like a real ditz, doesnt even put the automatic shutoff on when she pops the nozzle into her gas guzzlin van, so it starts to spill, and the idiot girl in the passengers seat starts to walk out with a lit cigarette to tell her mom that the gas was spillin all over, not thinking that the cigarette could start a real blaze or explosion.

5. I almost got blown up in a similar situation

I was driving taxi and ferrying some gasoline in an open container to another driver to had run out. While I was stopped at a red light, three giggly girls piled in and wanted to be taken to the same location.

I warned them repeatedly that there was open gasoline in the bucket at their feet.

Two of them in the back seat were about to light up cigarettes before I started screaming at them and pulling over to bail out. Then they go upset with me. :shrug:

9. I remember when ALL "filling stations" were "full service."

And the quintessential, ubiquitous gas-boy usually had a burning Lucky Strike dangling from his lower lip as he pumped ethyl into your '55 Chevy.

Hell, I've seen airport gas-boys pump 115/145 octane "purple-passion-juice" avgas into a Beech D-18 with a cig in mouth!
