RabrrrrrrKid wrote his letter to Santa today, using a fountain pen and Amalfi stationery

Here it is. He's 4, by the way. His pen is a Bel Age Platinum with music nib using black ink, and he wrote in a flowing italic script in approximately 12-point size; being formal international correspondence, of course he wrote it in French, which I have translated below:


Dear Santa,

I would be so wonderfully happy to receive, as your determination of my past-year's behavior warrants, though I implore upon you to judge with your known abundant mercy and generosity of spirit, understanding that I am only four years on this wondrous earth and remain still with much to learn of morals and ethics, any one or more of the following, though if it is within your means and capacity to give, a complete set of the below would be received with much gleeful joy and happiness and serve better to help me in my future goals than any of them would working only in part without the whole:

Limitless capacity to hate
Power over death
Power of death
Undying obedience of the proletariat (devotion irrelevant)
A military sufficient to subdue to the largest nations on earth
Sufficient funding for above
Immunity from all human laws, as they are contrived by the weak for the weak
A battalion of construction workers who shall make for me a palace of my design
Sufficient funding for the above palace, circa US$80 billion

31. Actually, to step out of character for a moment, I use fountain pens most of the time

I have the wonderful pen that I ascribed to Rabrrrrrrkid, and I totally love it. Also an awesome Aurora Talentum (Telentem?) that I love, and a few others. I have two cheapy Schaefers that I keep red and green ink in for editing purposes and highlighting, but they don't get used a whole lot.

The Bel Age, though, gets heavy use.

Absolutely love it.

I also very much love the Amalfi stationery, though my general correspondence is done with Fabriano Medioeavalas (however the hell it's spelled).

There are a number of us fountain pen users out there. :-) I prefer the way they write, but I also appreciate them for their environmental soundness.
