Would it extend to weird, folky prog-rock like Jethro Tull or Peter Gabriel-era Genesis? That stuff's earthy and listenable.

What about the more respectable end of fantasy prog-rock, like Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Centre of the Earth or Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds? Those are actually pretty cool. Prog rock wasn't all Emerson, Lake, and Palmer shit.

10. Only prog I would allow would be The Mars Volta and Coheed and Cambria if you wanna call them prog.

Ironically Coheed kinda sounds like Rush if they grew up listening to punk rock, but they're way more fun to listen to than Rush.
