1. One line in that review underscores my problem with "Passion"
" Even I, one who has seen in film every imaginable gore, shuddered in shame (shame for my sins that put Jesus in this situation) and looked away as the Roman whipmaster, with glee on his face, embedded the metal bits at the ends of the scourge cords into our Lord then yanked them out ... and pieces of our Lord with them."

That seems to be the whole film in a nutshell, that you should be ashamed of yourself for being such a sinner that this had to happen to Jesus.

Reason #66987987 I left the Catholic Church to be Agnostic, I just can't feel responsible for pain and suffering incurred 2,000 years ago.

I just don't get the whole cross thing. Really.
