Poll question: Favorite Bob Marley song?
This is incomplete, of course. If you have another in mind, post it and tell me why.

Though it's difficult to single one out I really like "Waiting in Vain." I just love the rhythm of that tune. Plus, I'm partial to the romantic stuff.

Digitally relooped it when transferring it from one cd to a homemade one

7. Exodus is good too.
What got me thinking about Bob was a foul mood this morning that had me thinking of rocking the boat and agitation, if you know what I mean. With that in mind I was thinking of "Get up, Stand up." Standing up for our rights!

10. Get up, Stand up. Love it.
I heard this band called Ital do a cover of Dylan's "Knocking on heaven's door" that just completely knocked me out. I went to see them every night they played at this Hilton Head, SC club.

8. Other- No Woman No Cry
No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.

'Cause - 'cause - 'cause I remember when a we used to sit
In a government yard in Trenchtown,
Oba - obaserving the 'ypocrites - yeah! -
Mingle with the good people we meet, yeah!
Good friends we have, oh, good friends we have lost
Along the way, yeah!
In this great future, you can't forget your past;
So dry your tears, I seh. Yeah!

No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry. Eh, yeah!
A little darlin', don't shed no tears:
No, woman, no cry. Eh!

Said - said - said I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown, yeah!
And then Georgie would make the fire lights,
I seh, logwood burnin' through the nights, yeah!
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge, say,
Of which I'll share with you, yeah!
My feet is my only carriage
And so I've got to push on through.
Oh, while I'm gone,
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right, yeah!
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right-a!
Everything's gonna be all right!
Everything's gonna be all right, yeah!
Everything's gonna be all right!

So no, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.
I seh, O little - O little darlin', don't shed no tears;
No, woman, no cry, eh.

No, woman - no, woman - no, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.
One more time I got to say:
O little - little darlin', please don't shed no tears;
No, woman, no cry.

9. It's all about the lyrics

Redemption Song.... Easily my favorite by him.

I'd say Three Little Birds is my second favorite by him. Of course I like 99% of his songs...and he's got a lot of them.

No room. I wanted about twice that many choices.

Since I'm listening to and looking at the cover of "Legend," most choices are from it. The Kaya album as a couple of good ones like "She's gone."

[edit} and "Easy skanking"

15. Easy Skanking
.....love this song! Great rhythm inducer for household chores like vacuuming. :)

Easy skanking (skankin' it slow).

Excuse me while I light my spliff; (spliff)
Good God, I gotta take a lift: (lift)
From reality I just can't drift; (drift)
That's why I am staying with this riff. (riff)

19. Mellow Mood
"I'll play your favorite song, darlin'
We can rock it all night long, darlin'
Cause I got the love, darlin'
Love sweet love, darlin'

I like a version of Buffalo Soldiers that I haven't been able to find for years now. It drives me crazy.

20. Don't forget "Punky Reggae Party"

Not the live version - I like the album version better.

I love the end part where he does some skat (for lack of a better description). That might be my 3rd favorite.
