What do you think of the show "Ghosthunters"?
I like it, it's mildly entertaining. I think it would be cool to geek out like that and travel around. But I am conflicted. I can't tell if THEY really believe the stuff they do or not. I see two scenarios, they are blissfully ignorant and they believe the stuff is going on and the stuff on there is actually occurring as we see it ie. not made up -OR- they are motherfucking liars and they are going to hell. So which is it?

1. I think I like "Haunted History" better.
Even though I don't believe in ghosts, I just love a spooky story, and the story-telling manner of "Haunted History" suits me better than seeing the funny eyes in the dark the way they use those IR cameras.

I do, however, think that Ghosthunters is mildly entertaining.

:D

8. They seem like such nice lads.
And every episode they have a beautiful young lady, who... who... well, I don't know what she does, expert in the occult per haps, I'm sure she's well versed in Madame Blavotsky... :P

6. I Like it for the most part
I like that they dont think that EVERYTHING is paranormal even tho I think that Jason is kind of a tool but I love when they get EVP's. The recordings of the voices and stuff......everything else I am a little skeptical on. Did you see the one from the Stanley HOtel in Colorado?? It was so awesome and the one from Myrtles Plantation was good too, they caught something walking right in front of the thermal camera on the thermal camera but nobody actually saw anything. Those things only respond to heat. It was really cool. OH and PS dont waste your time with "Paranormal State" its fucking retarded! LOL

9. Yeah. I like them for the same reason. I like the original show better than GHI. There are
people on that show that just get on my very last nerve.

10. I can't say as I care for it
The few times I saw the program, they never actually found any ghosts. I assume it's possible I missed the episode where they found ghosts, but so far as I can tell, they're just screwing around. Mythbusters is much more my speed, because they do the useful work of examining myths and manage to screw around at the same time.

14. Mythbusters is also crap IMO
Sure, their "let's shoot it or blow it up" attitude is a lot of fun, but the underlying premise of the show--the debunking of urban myths--is lost in the rush to demonstrate whatever pyrotechnics and ballistic gel they can roll out in front of the cameras. For the first few dozen shows I guess this was entertaining, but after that it kind of got old...

It would be nice if they made any effort to show how critical thinking can be applied to one's own investigation of bogus myths. Instead, they run long sequences of high speed photography to show the bullet destroying the badge or whatever.

Not the worst show on TV, but it could easily be so much better.

12. Being that there are no ghosts, it's a waste of time.
They are liars but there is no hell for them to go to.

13. I like it.
I'm not sure I believe in ghosts or whatever but even if I didn't, I'd still watch cause it's entertaining to me and I like the idea of ghosts. :)

15. utter nonesense
if they aren't actively scripting for tv, than I pity them, because they're idiots. I don't believe in ghosts, but hell, you can still make it entertaining. I love reading ghost stories. But they don't even grasp the real concepts behind their equipment (holding an EM meter up to a frigging circuit breaker box and gasping at the "ghost readings" :eyes:), and they just seem like tools.

I'm a big fan of Chis Woodyard's Haunted Ohio series; she's a "psychic" (another thing that I find to be nonsense) and she "sees" ghosts in old houses, but damnit, she's a great writer and she makes it interesting. If you're going to peddle crap, at least entertain me

/rant ;)

16. I like Discovery Channels "A Haunting" better.
On Ghosthunters they seem to investigate pretty boring hauntings. Hearing some foosteps, seeing some orbs, or being touched by something unseen isn't too entertaining. A Haunting is a lot more entertaining. On that show they often feature demonic hauntings where people are beaten severely, dark figures show up, and excorcisms take place.

I'm not sure how real that show is, but it's more entertaining than Ghosthunters.
