I am buying my dream car today...Ask me anything!
I am actually heading to the dealer this afternoon to put a deposit down on the car that I have always wanted. I won't get the car until Monday or Tuesday. Go Ahead... ask me anything.

7. Very nice! What exactly is included in a cold weather package?
Here in Texas, that particular option is not necessary for the cars we drive. Does it have an engine warmer or something?

6. Do Saabs still come with the seat warmers?
I thought that was the best innovation. Particularly for COLD winters. :-)

Fabulous car, Thom. Congratulations!

12. Part of the cold weather package...
Thanks! I have always wanted one. Although I liked the style two generations ago better... before GM go their hands on it.

9. Have you ever owned a Saab before?

They can be a bit, um, cantankerous sometimes. Is this one a Turbo?

Heated seats were always standard - are they still? Man, I loved those things.

Congrats on the "new car" bug - they're building mine (Audi) as we speak - looking for delivery in May. With the cold weather package, natch. :)

11. I've already owned my dream car...

Sadly, it's long-gone, but it was fun while it lasted! Now I need a new dream car to work towards...

Nice taste you have. I had a Saab once, when stationed overseas, and it was CRAP! But it was an ancient model, and the new ones are a whole other animal. Have fun!

14. Please forgive if I get this wrong but that's a Jag, right?
That is sweet! Like I said their warranty is really pretty good: 4 years 50k miles bumper to bumper, and 3 year 36k miles of free scheduled maintenance. Plus, the Mechanical Breakdown Insurance from my carrier, and I should be alright.

15. Yup, that was my Jag XK-8.
Unfortunately I had to sell it when my business partner defaulted on his obligations, but, hey, I still have my youth!

I wouldn't worry about the Saab. I know a few people with newer ones, and they swear by them. Mine was a 1978 99GL, and most of the trouble was the engine, which (I found out later) wasn't even a Saab design--Saab just licensed the engine design from the Austin Marina, which, as everyone in Europe knows, was the worst car ever made.

13. That's what I've heard...
But they come with a really decent warranty and I can get Mechanical Breakdown Insurance from my Insurance company for $40 per six months. That will cover any repairs for three years after the warranty expires, so I am less worried about it.

Good luck with the Audi. They are sweet cars too, but I have always had a thing for Saab.

16. Thanks

I ordered an A6 2.7TS - kind of dissapointed though, that they phased out the 6 speed manual in favor of the Tiptronic.

I'm sure the new Saabs are no problem mechanically - I just recall that 20 minutes after I took mine it out of the showroom, the entire electrical system died. At night. On an interstate highway. At the end of rush hour.

Those things kind of stay with you. :)

(After that, though, it was fine - though I never felt quite right talking to the Service Advisor at the dealership. He was wearing a three piece suit - I was hoping for more along the lines of something a little more "service-y."

If you get a chance - drive fast!
