Anyone from Hawaii? How is the weather in your area?

I almost didn't make it home tonight due to the rains. The marshlands and roads between Ma'alaea and Kihei are flooded.

Is the worst over in your area? Apparently, the center of the storm should be passing over Maui at four AM.

My deck is flooded, so I've been mopping it up all night.

When all of these rains end, it is going to be very, very hot.



That dark red area South of Maui is scaring me quite a bit.

2. My girlfriend's in Hana

She had to go to the other side yesterday, said the waves and the winds were pretty bad. I haven't talked to her yet today but it looks like she's getting her fair share.

I doubt that dark red area will survive the mountain to get farther north. South Hana Hwy. will be closed for a while though.

I spent January on Maui, first time I'd ever seen ghost rain, clouds not 15 degrees off the horizon, couldn't be clearer up above, and a soaking rain. Managed to see hail and had a couple thunder storms which I hear are extremely rare there.

Hang in there La_Serpiente, it's a small price to pay for paradise.

3. If your GF is still in Hana

she must be getting it REALLY REALLY BAD. The worst of it came tonight, and it was not pretty at all.

I hope she is doing OK.

4. Wow...major storm plowing through the area...

Hope you folks are doing OK.
I've visited Maui twice and I loved it. Small place to be caught
in such a rough storm.
From the radar image it appears that Hana is smack square in the
path of heavy rains.
