Well, looks like I just lost my first friend due to the Obama victory.
She tells me her 'kids are in tears', and I reply with 'mine are too. Tears of joy'.

She states how she needs to get her terrorist survival gear. :eyes:

I lose it and say that after eight fucking years of a monkey destroying this country, now she knows how I feel.

She hangs up. Fuck her. She's a racist bitch.

4. I think so, too.
Racism in any form doesn't sit well with me. I knew she was a little racist, (from NY can you believe) but wow. Her husband, a friend of my husband's who is a major league born again is the biggest racist I know. Wonder what Christ would think of that?

12. LOL. No, they do. It's just that down here, it's kind of rare to find
someone from the NE or NY who is a racist. There are plenty home grown ones if you know what I mean.

6. I find these idiots really sad and scary.
Its okay for them to laugh and rub it in our faces when they win but when they lose OH NOEZ you better sympathize with them or your teh evil! The lack of empathy in these people is exceedingly frightening.

20. That's exactly spot on!
I have probably lost at least one friendship over this election. But if that's the cost, then that's the cost. It is my sincere hope that after a period of time when things have calmed down a little, that my friend and I can re-open our friendship.

Things are fine with these people until you dare to disagree. Then, if they can't persuade you (i.e., control you), they get all hot and bothered. They've all been listening to the likes of Limbaugh way too long and have started to believe that promoting hate and fear mongering is normal behavior.

14. I'm hoping I won't lose any friends over it.
I got out really early this morning to get my Obama sign out of the front yard (since I know it's been a source of contention from my next door neighbor who had a BIG ole nasty McCain sign in hers). I noticed that she had already pulled her sign too. So, I'm hoping we can all do what both McCain and Obama emphasized last night - look to our common strengths and our hopes for America, and move forward that way.

But, that's just my take on it.

15. Well, I feel like I sucked it up for 8 years while these people
gloated about the chimp even as he destroyed this company and let's face it, even if were voting for McCain, it is a historic election.

When she told me she needed her terrorist gear and that her kids were in tears, I lost it. Your kids are in tears because you're a racist you dumb fuck.

OT: I'm not that far from you. We should do another Richmond meetup.

17. At least it's just a friend with you : (
I will no longer be speaking with my asshole, racist, fake high morals brother (who actually cheated on his second and third wives, there's that repuke high moral standard for ya - and a WHOLE other story).

My narrow minded repuke dad actually called and left me a civil voice mail this morning. I put off listening to the message for about an hour because I thought it was going to be some ignorant, smart-ass message that would have started my day out on a shitty note like yours. I was pleasantly surprised that he just said congrats, he knew I had worked hard trying to convince people to listen to me and it was a big victory for my side. I'm SURE there is probably the other shoe to drop, but for now I will take the message with a sigh of relief and know that we will continue to not speak about politics at family gatherings.

As for my ignorant brother, he can wallow in whatever it is he chooses to wallow in all by himself. I am a bigger and better person that he is and I'm proud that I care about other human beings.

I want to know when the next Richmond meet-up is, or if you ever get up this way. I'd love to meet you in person! :pals:

I'm guessing he was probably high-fiving people over the Prop 8 results in California, a kind of "booby prize for wingnuts" this morning...

You have my deepest sympathies for having to deal with family members like this...makes me appreciate my own family even more when it comes to virtually any socio-political issue.

The nerve of her, DARING to make the terrorist comment. Those people became very used to feeling superior, didn't they. I'm sorry Midlo but sometimes it takes events like this election to separate the wheat from the chaff, associate-wise.

Better losing a "friend" to a new, positive day, than keeping one in an increasing prison. I'm sure someone else, probably more than one someone else, has already stated this truth. Sorry to hear it.
