that this might end up making him look so bad, that to distract from the issue there could be another terror alert, about dirty bombs in california, just as how the whole gay marriage thing iis distracting people from the whole wmd thing.

But the cool thing is, I can feel the Asshole War Criminal In Chief's foothold slipping, because it's getting to the point that the distractions aren't working any more.

I think they blew their load and they know it.

I used to assume that they'd raise the terralert right before elections, crank it up to Extra Special "Gonna Happen Soon" Super Deluxe Red Alert.

But at this point, I'm thinking the tide has changed, and if they crank up the terralert, it will be mostly ignored.

9. Memorial Day -- They may look bad that weekend

A disaster movie will be out that weekend, http://www.jurassicpunk.com/movies/dayaftertomorrow.shtml">The Day After Tomorrow, a fictionalized account of the possible/probable climate-change disaster that the Pentagon ordered a report on, then covered up for most of the year.

Although the movie was taken from The Coming Global Superstorm by Whitley Strieber and Art Bell, the research behind the idea is pretty solid, except for the more fanciful details, like the flash-freezing of NYC. (Strieber and Bell think the next Ice Age will come on over a period of three months -- I personally think three years is more likely.)

Such a pro-environmentalist movie could result in an attack of Terrah, or Team Bush could just sit back and let it slide. After all, there are several more holidays after that, all closer to Re-Installation Day.
