Poll question: Worst Disney animated feature
Edited on Fri Feb-27-04 11:02 PM by Finnfan
Now that Eisner is on the ropes, I figure it's time to look at the worst Disney has offered. I know that at least one of these will be extremely controversial, but I really feel like, despite its popularity, it is one of the most morally reprehensible movies Disney ever produced.

8. Actually, The Lion King is the one I hate.
Here is a movei about a dictator that loses the throne. In order to get the throne back, does he need to learn anything? No. Does he need to use his deductive reasoning to figure out that his uncle killed his father? No. All he has to do is come back and beat the bad guy up.

I really hate that movie.

3. Robin Hood. Ugh.
What a piece of cinematic drek. The very worst of the company's post WWII crapola, replete with terrible animation and voice acting.

10. GREAT animation, actually
the "nine old men" of Disney worked on that one, and the animation is still used as examples of masterful work in animation classes today. The story, art direction, and voice casting was indeed awful, but the rough animation (it was done with little cleanup, and that throws people off) was amazing.Milt Kahl at his best!

9. That wasen't one of ours
I worked as a Disney animator from "the Little Mermaid" through to "the Lion King"

"Atlantis" and "Dinosaur" get my vote. Nasty Producer on "Dinosaur", too, so I'm not sorry that it bombed!

11. "Dinosaur" reeked. I suspect it's getting any votes 'cause nobody saw it.
Even my then 4 yo son despised it.

12. "Dinosaur" Had an Insipid Plot
and was completely driven by the 3D animation, which was soon old hat.

I like Pocohontas, however historically inaccurate it was. I can't believe it's in the lead. Must be that nobody has seen some of these movies.
