My slow ass finally found a way to watch movies online. Any suggestions?
I just found a place that lets you watch movies online and decided to jump in headfirst. Tonight, I dragged my aunt in here and we watched X Files - I Want To Believe. I fucking loved it. It was the best movie I've seen in 10 years.

Then again, I haven't really had HBO or Cinemax or even rented movies in about 10 years. We have no movie theatre here in town because they closed ours back in the 90s for airing Showgirls. :eyes: Yes, Footloose was rather Disney-ish in its portrayal of closed mindedness compared to real fundyland. :eyes: Our town council actually demanded they close the last one of our 3 movie theaters all because they played Showgirls. The other two closed because they charged too much, left the seats too sticky and kept it too cold in there, even for me. :wow:

Granted, Showgirls wasn't "all that," but their reason for shutting the theater down wasn't that the movie wasn't that great. It was because it was "indecent and immoral." :eyes: I hate them for that AND for trying to stop Lollapalooza because they thought it would turn everybody gay. :eyes: I could go on and on about how I do not like the local government here, but that's an aside. :eyes:

You name the movie from the last 10 years, other than Saw, which I did NOT like, and I haven't seen it. The last really good movie I remember watching before this new X-files movie was something to do with Dustin Hoffman and some virus that was wiping out mankind. I haven't a clue what the name of it was. I can't remember.

So, I came here to ask for suggestions on what movies to look up and watch while I can. My favorite types of movies are usually horror, suspense, thriller, and (sometimes) comedies and true stories(biographies and documentaries). I prefer suspense and thriller (adventure) type movies more than anything.

What movies would you recommend I watch? Don't tell me any spoilers though unless the movie was just THAT GOOD that knowing the end still doesn't take away from still watching the movie.

I do love "alien/ufo" type movies a lot. I love "end of the world/nuclear/climate doomsday" type movies and "Oh shit, we had better hurry up and fix this before disaster strikes" type movies. I also love movies where a bunch of misfit kids go on some zany wild fun adventure I could only dream of as a kid(and now for that matter). I also love those "we found something mysterious in an attic or poking out of the sand at the beach or by some other crazy dreamworld scenario, so let's go search out some treasure" types of movies too. I also love movies about road rage.

I also love movies about animals going on adventures as long as their mouths do not move when they talk. I hate/loathe/despise those animatronic animal movies where the animals talk and their mouths move in all sorts of fake ass looking ways. In other words, something like Homeward Bound, I love. Something like Cats & Dogs, I'll pass.

9. If you like horror.... not for being actually scary but the genre in general....
... the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre wasn't all that bad. I laughed all the way through it, as I saw how in every single scene they had to make certain that the chick's tits were properly lit.

If you like end of the world movies, for a dose of realism check out the BBC's docu-drama on nuclear war, Threads. They have it up on Google Video. A MUCH better movie than The Day After, includes the actual UK "Protect And Survive" short films that they had prepared in case war broke out.

I'm not into action/adventure movies really, and a lot of comedies this day and age are so not funny it's not funny.

10. I know what you mean about comedies.

I remember good comedies like The Toy, Overboard, Foul Play, and Raising Arizona. It's kind of hard to compete with those movies for funny.

I think I saw Threads on the list. I'm going to cue that one up. I don't know why those movies always actually get to me, but they do. I guess it was the drills where they made us get under our desks and stick our heads between our legs with our hands behind our heads. I always thought those drills were more to keep us paranoid, but then again I wasn't born until 1970. So, I missed the Cuban missile crisis and some of the other really scary real life stuff, thankfully.

I know what you mean about the tits being lit just right in some of those movies. I think that's why I did love Scary Movie. Are any of those sequels to Scary Movie good? I never got to see any of the sequels. I loved the first one though.

12. Thank you.
I watched National Treasure: Book of Secrets this morning too. I loved that. Wow, I didn't know you could watch major movies online too. I thought you could only watch documentaries unless you had Netflix or some other subscription type thing I can't afford.
