Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 02:19 AM by Ava
ugh, this is stressful, but i've found some great schools with good film programs. my verbal score on the SAT was in the 94th percentile nationally, so hopefully that'll help me out with admission. my composite score was only in the 83rd percentile though... which upset me at first, but i'm at peace with the score now.. even if it hurts my chances at some of the schools i was and still am looking at.

g'nite du'ers.. i'm now going to go have nightmares about rejection letters

4. ohh you'll be fine!
What school would turn you down! Plus, a film program is overrated compared to the person's own intellect, creativity and ability. I know guys who only went to two years of video school who are better than 99.9999 percent of film school grads. It's simply hard work and talent. You'll want to get into the best school that you can, work with the best teachers, sure, but they can only point you in the right direction and teach you the basics, your own skill and work ethic will get you where you need to go.

Dear Miss Ava

This letter is to inform you that you have been rejected

from Jeff's University.

You're obviously too intelligent to be a student here

but we would be glad to accept you as a teacher.

7. Probably much higher than that.
Score inflation is fairly outrageous nowadays. I got a 640 math and that was only 84th percentile. It's fairly pathetic.

And I would beg to differ with you - but that's a whole new ball of wax entirely.

But most Profs you will meet in a Pac-10 school will have worked at another Pac-10 school in the "biz".

19. If your verbal score was that high, I think you'll have your pick of schools.
My verbal score, as I later discovered, was actually above 600. My math score was way, way below par, though. I still earned admission into Emerson and Marymount Manhattan.

I ended up going to Texas, though. :P That wasn't a bad experience at all.

I think you're going to be just fine.

Congrats on your scores overall!

20. my math score was pretty much average
i was upset with it though, because i know i could have done better... and i honestly did feel like i did good on the math. i think skipping one question on one of the math sections messed me up.. because i'm afraid that i skipped the question in the booklet but not on the answer sheet and got off by one question on that section.

hopefully since i'm not going for a math or science degree, my math score won't hurt me too much.

21. No, it shouldn't.
Now I don't know for sure, but what I suspect with college admissions is that they read your essay - where you indicate what you'd like to do. If your test scores coincide with your interests, I think they won't hold your math score against you.

BTW: I barely broke 400 in math!!! And I'm now working on my doctorate. :P Test scores do not make the entire student.

Ha! I did great on my SAT math! And average on the verbal.
Have fun picking a school!
