Don't you hate it when someone looks familiar to you....
But you can't put your finger on it? Especially when the other person says that you look familiar, too? I was volunteering the other night and there was a woman next to me that I know I've known before, maybe in the anciet history of my childhood or something. We tried to figure it out all night. No luck. Does this ever happen to you?

1. Yes.
The first bit is weird where you both keep furtively glancing at each other until one of you goes 'you look familiar'.

Plus the deflating feeling you both get when you can't figure out who each other are is odd too.

2. Yes it bothers the heck out of me
I hate it when I am positive I know someone and can't put a finger on it.

thats usually when they are out of their element. I was at the bank and someone said Hi how are you?? hows so and so blah blah

I kept trying to figure out who he was then it hit me

it was the man from the funeral home we use.... (yeah at one point we were there a lot) but I could not recognize him in jeans and not a dark suit!!!

:hi:

4. Happens to me all the time.
It's worse when they think they recognize me, but I have no clue who they are. I apparently have a familiar looking face.

5. There was a couple at a bar last week
and it took me way too long where I'd seen the guy before, because while he didn't quite look like the person, he had the exact same mannerisms of Ricky Gervais's assistant in Extras. It was uncanny.

6. 90% of the time I'm wrong
And if it's a woman they usually think I'm trying to use a cheesy pick-up line on them.

11. I can see if you are in a lounge
But it's a little silly standing in line at the "Family Dollar" and asking someone if they used to be your next door neighbor, "Hi...Rita?", "No and I'm married!"

7. happens to me a lot. i remember faces, but
i suck at names. people seem to remember me. i have a plain face, but a kind of outrageous hairdo.
i don't hate it too much, because it is a great place to start a conversation. sucks when you can't figure it out, tho.

10. I nearly drove a woman crazy once...
I was visiting my mother in the hospital and she was visiting hers in the same room. I KNOW that we knew each other from somewhere. I kept harassing the poor woman by asking her questions about where she had worked, friends, neighbors, groups, etc. I drove her crazy but I STILL think I knew her from somewhere!

15. I saw a woman on facebook that I distinctly remember meeting.
I even remembered writing her name down. I asked her if she remembered me. Nope.

Come on, I was sure we met! Was it this place, that place? Ever been here, done this job?

Nope, nope.

I think she was trying hard to forget me. :D

22. That reminds me of a recent show I watched part of
This up and coming artist was working as a waitress to pay the bills until she got a break and all these rich, snobbish assholes used to come into her restaurant and treat her and the rest of the wait staff like shit. When she finally got a break and started having shows selling her work, a lot of the same snobbish assholes would come to her shows, buy her art, suck up to her and invite her to their asshole conventions at their homes. She recognized who they were but they had no idea it was the same waitress they called "stupid" a few months ago.

19. I actually tell people they look familiar all the time....on purpose
just to mess with their heads. "No, really....I SWEAR we've met before"! I like seeing the puzzled look on their faces as it drives them nuts wondering who the hell I am.

It's fun..trust me

24. "I think we bumped into each other in the grocery store a few weeks ago"
Since some people will go food shopping once a week..it's not that hard to believe

"I was checking you out in the checkout line....you probably didn't notice" :D

20. Worse is when a friend insists "You did TOO used to date him"
and I have absolutely no recollection of even meeting the guy, much less going out on a date.

There is nothing worse than a friend with no "edit" button and a better memory than you

21. Happened this summer
spent all day sand bagging in Iowa City Iowa and this guy next to me seemed really familiar. I introduced myself at the end of the day and left. I knew he was in a certain dept so I emailed to ask if he went to college at an Iowa school and he said yes. It turns out we went to college together 25 years ago and both ended up working at a new university. It was him and he said yes I thought you looked familiar too but I couldn't place you either.
