14. When I moved from DC to LA and knew my mom would flip out....

....my sister (who also knew she'd flip out) suggested I just move without telling her, and send her a change of address card. This is funnier if you know that we usually talk to our mom 2-3 times a week. :rofl:

You did the right thing,I wish you a smooth transition to your new home. BTW- Moving is an EXCELLENT time to "streamline" your possessions. I tend to be a bit of a pack rat, not out of laziness but I can't help but feel "I may need that" sometime. Last time I moved I looked at EVERYTHING I owned. Anything broken/unrepairable went in the trash. Clothing that didn't fit me anymore went to goodwill, clothing that had rips/tears went in the dumpster. A garage sale would work too.
