So much love for the '80s music this past week....
And that's cool- it was very definitive and often unique. But I came of age more in the '90s (started university in the fall of 1989) so I'm ready to fondly remember some of the good '90s Alt-Rock!

This has been my earworm this weekend- and I still love this song!

1. I graduated from high school in 1991
I remember this song from around that time as being the greatest song that I ever heard. Now days I turn the channel when I hear it.

2. Massive overplay will do that every time....
I thought it was OK at the time- and got sick of it fairly quickly when it was being played every hour on the hour...

4. Those are REALLY in the Alt category!
I'm not intimately familiar with them, but cool videos!

5. LOL...I haven't ventured too close to mainstream music in decades.

Glad you liked them. I wasn't sure if they'd be too out there or not. :)

6. I cross the line....
I like a little bit of everything in my music... I've got classical to gangsta rap on my iPod...

7. I get into a lot of different things.
Mostly into punk/noise/black metal, but I listen to hip hop, jazz, blues, etc. The only thing is, even within those other genres I get into the more obscure stuff. Every genre has it's outliers, and that's where I seem to always reside. :)

There's so much cool stuff out there. When people say that today's music sucks I just laugh. For me there's never been a better time. Between things like LastFM, Myspace, etc, you can have access to more music of all kinds, more info on the bands you like, and the types of music are blurring the lines between genres more and more everyday. I get into one black metal artist that infuses jazz and folk music into his stuff. There's something for everyone....if they're willing to look.

8. It sucks if you only listen to what the record companies are pushing-
THAT's a given. But yeah- there are SO many places to go find undiscovered bands and artists that there's no excuse for not having an overflowing bounty of tunes in whatever genre you like.
