I had it again, that same dream. I was taking four college courses

and realized I was behind in them. I also realized I didn't have a syllabus for any of them, so I didn't know where I was supposed to be caught up to.

I've had similar dreams numerous times. Usually, it is about exam time, and I haven't studied or cracked a book the whole semester.

When I was a kid, the recurring dream I had was about tidal waves. I'd be on the beach and look out and see these great big waves. Now, it's the exams/classes.....Aargh.....

1. I graduated from college thirty years ago...
I had a dream a few nights ago that I was flunking French because something always prevented me from getting to class. Hate to tell you this, kid, but it never goes away completely!

2. Are you me?
Tidal wave dreams as a kid, About to wipe out my family and I am the only one who can see the waves coming. ( in addition to bombed out neighborhood dreams) now I have college nightmares. In them it is the last day of classes and I realize I haven't attended any of them. I am running around trying to get professors to give me an incomplete. Horrible.

4. I think they are pretty classic stress dreams, we are not alone.
My bombed out neighborhood dreams were more than likely due to the grownup talk around me during the Cuban missle crisis.
And college IS stressful, even if you attend all the classes! I am 52 so it has been a long time to have these dreams!

I call them my post-apocalyptic dreams.

5. I have similar dreams
Finished undergrad in 1989 and still have dreams that there is a class I forgot I signed up for and never attended a single class. Now (in the dream) it is finals and I am not going to graduate because of this course.

graduated in 87 and still have dreams that I "forgot" a class and didnt really graduate.

Maybe because it never really seemed "official". The graduation didnt seem that big of a deal, and the piece of paper transcript was all you had to show for 4 years of work (except of course for the "knowledge"!)

I just realized I hadn't been going to that one class, and it was always in something like Calculus that I couldn't just wing.

6. Wow, I have had about the same dream a few times, I had a
lot of classes (college), and I kept forgetting to look at my schedule, realized I kept missing my math class, and never did get it all straightened out. I remember thinking, shit, I was determined to get a great GPA the second time around in college, and I couldn't even remember to take my math class! I have really blown it now!

7. I graduated forty years ago
And I still have those dreams once in a while.

However, sine I retired, they have been mostly replaced by dreams in which I am at work and suddenly realize: Hey! I'm retired and I can go home! Much better than the college dreams...

12. I've had those occasionally, and I figured it was due to being a recent graduate (June '07).
But apparently people keeping having these for thirty, forty years after the fact. Not cool. :(

17. I'm 41 and I hate those school dreams.
Sometimes it's like yours.I'm sitting there and I have no idea what the teacher is talking

about. On other occasions I can't find my locker among the thousands of them or

if I manage to find it then I forgot the combination. There's also the classic:

:)

18. Get the final exam one a lot
And I graduated forty years ago! I also get the one where I'm in a play, and opening night I realize I've memorized the lines from the wrong play - and that it's in Polish. I haven't performed on stage since High School, but I still get that dream.

Just a metaphor for my life probably.

21. I always dream that I'm taking a course called "16th Century German Literature"
or something obscure like that.

In the dream, there is usually an important test coming up and it suddenly hits me that I don't know a fucking thing about the material.

Hmmm...maybe these aren't dreams. Maybe I am secretly reliving my past...

It is all starting to make sense, now.
